The time for deals is almost over in the January transfer window and there’s only roughly an hour and a half left before the deadline slams shut, but Wolverhampton Wanderers have announced the departure of youngster Ryan Giles on a loan spell to Coventry City and there’s also an expectation that fellow Academy graduate Dion Sanderson will be heading to Cardiff City for the campaign before 11pm.

20-year-old wing-back Giles had spent the first half of the year out at Shrewsbury Town where he made 19 starting appearances, with six further showings from the bench and he chipped in with a goal on his debut against Portsmouth. Having been recalled in the New Year, he now heads out to Coventry City for the second half of the year and Wolves continue to have high hopes for his future.

As can be seen on the above link, some fans can’t see the sense of recalling him ahead of their game against Liverpool in the Cup to then loan him back out, but it’s likely that was when the recall clause expired and moving to Coventry he’ll now be in a promotion battle as opposed to a potential relegation one.

It’s also been reported by the Express and Star that we remain in talks with Cardiff over 20-year-old Sanderson, with it expected that the versatile defender will significantly increase his game time with them in the second half of the year.

That deal hasn’t yet been confirmed though.
