‘You never know’, ‘Imagine’ – Many Wolves fans respond to World Cup winner rumour

|

Many Wolves fans have discussed the possibility of signing Thomas Lemar, with the Frenchman’s future at Atletico Madrid up in the air.

Popular fan account @TalkingWolves tweeted about how Wolves are one of three Premier League teams interested in the 24-year-old, quoting Goal as the source of the story.

Allegedly, Wanderers have joined both Spurs and Arsenal in the race for the World Cup winner.

The left-winger has found things difficult this season at Atleti. Despite 21 appearances in all competitions, just 10 of them have been starts, and he is yet to register a goal or an assist.

Would you take Thomas Lemar at the club?

No thanks - we can do better

There was a pretty mixed reaction from Wolves fans, who you’d think would have to be pinching themselves to be linked with a player who was part of the World Cup winning squad in 2018.

Some fans loved the sound of it, saying “imagine” and “you never know”.

Others were more pessimistic, with one fan saying they “doubt it”, and another saying it was “rubbish”.

With the club having a huge second half of the season ahead of them, some more depth is certainly needed, but probably more in the defensive positions than on the wing.

However, the idea of Adama Traore and Thomas Lemar bombing down either wing with Raul Jimenez in between them is surely enough to get many fans’ hearts racing.
