Many Wolves fans have lamented former Newcastle forward Faustino Asprilla for his comments about the club in relation to James Rodriguez’s future.
When discussing the player’s future, he said that James did not have to “suffer” at Wolverhampton, before stating that they are a team “that always fights against relegation”, according to quotes from RCN (via Sport Witness).
It’s pretty clear Asprilla – a player that recorded 20 goals for Colombia in 58 games – isn’t the biggest fan of this potential move, suggesting he would be better off at a club such as Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal reportedly being more appropriate for a player of his talent.
While you can certainly see where he is coming from in terms of reputation, it doesn’t look too good on his part as he clearly hasn’t done his research.
Should we sign James Rodriguez?
Yes, definitely
No, too much money
Back in the Mick McCarthy days, he might have been right, but under Nuno they haven’t looked close to relegation at any point since being up.
Plenty of fans weren’t too pleased with his comments – as you can see from the responses below…
He clearly knows nothing about wolves as of late

Legend only in Colombia and Newcastle, don’t think he has a clue. James Rodriguez is a quality player but has unfortunately picked the wrong clubs in recent years. His career has stalled because of it.

Spanish outlet El Desmarque have stated that the 28-year-old has caught the interest of Wolves, and they could be asking their old friend in Jorge Mendes to get them to lower their asking price.
The Colombian has managed to get just seven La Liga appearances under his beltthis season, scoring just one goal and assisting another.
