Raul Jimenez has been linked with a move away from Wolverhampton Wanderers, but it’s highly unlikely he will leave the club to join a side only promising him a subsidiary role.

The 28-year-old has scored and created 57 goals in 88 games since joining Wolves on loan from Benfica in 2018 and turning the move permanent in 2019, and has attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs.

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in Jimenez, but he may opt against joining either North London side as they both have established first-choice strikers – Alexander Lacazette/Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Harry Kane/Heung-min Son.

Jimenez has flourished in the Premier League with Wolves and won’t want to sit on the bench elsewhere next season. The Mexican international will be confident of his ability, having contributed 32 goals in 44 games this season, but he may want assurances before genuinely considering a departure.

There’s been no public suggestion from Jimenez that he’s looking to leave, especially with three-and-a-years still remaining on his contract, but Wolves may be wary of the interest. The 28-year-old has a market value of £45m, so the Midlands outfit may have a difficult decision to make if a club matched that figure.

Let alone wanting first-team football, why Jimenez would make the switch to a side like Arsenal or Tottenham remains to be seen too. Wolves are currently sixth in the Premier League table with 43 points from 29 games, above both London clubs, and could overtake fifth-placed Manchester United if results go their way on the weekend.

There’s a lot at Wolves for Jimenez to stick around for, so it may take some convincing from suitors to get him to leave.

All this talk regarding Jiminez is assuming Wolves will sell? unless he asks to leave I can’t see it happening, slso we have too replace him.
We are building a team not decimating a team just to sell too teams who think they are big!
