According to Fanatik via Daily Mail, Wolverhampton Wanderers have ‘entered talks’ with Loris Karius and may consider ‘signing him on loan’. The Midlands outfit could have to battle West Ham United, Sporting CP and RSC Anderlecht for his signature, as per The Sun.
The 26-year-old recently cut his temporary stint with Besiktas short due to a dispute over unpaid wages and could be available this summer as he’s been surplus to requirements at parent club Liverpool.
Karius has made 49 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool since joining from 1. FSV Mainz 05 in 2016, conceding 47 goals and making 22 clean sheets. He’s spent the last two seasons at Besiktas, featuring 67 times while conceding 95 goals and keeping 14 clean sheets.
Besiktas have been linked with a move for John Ruddy as replacement for the German goalkeeper, so the two players may be swapping clubs in the coming months.
Ruddy is out of contract this summer and may be open to a departure from Molineux as he’s played second fiddle to Rui Patricio since 2018. Karius will want to be away from Anfield as he lost his place in the side just under two years ago.
It remains to be seen if Wolves can beat West Ham, Sporting and Anderlecht to bring Karius to Molineux, however.
