John Ruddy has been linked with a move away from Wolverhampton Wanderers and supporters can’t decide whether or not to let him go this summer. Besiktas have identified the 33-year-old as a replacement for Loris Karius, but some Wolves fans are desperate to keep him at Molineux while others wouldn’t begrudge him a transfer.
Ruddy’s future is uncertain as he’s out of contract in the coming months and has been out of favour since Rui Patricio joined in 2018. The England international has made 60 appearances in all competitions since joining from Norwich City in 2017, but he’s featured only 15 times in 23 months. Ruddy has only made only two appearances in 2020, so he may want first-team football next season.
Would love to see ruddy transition into coaching management team, hope he stays but if he goes I hope he comes back.

As much as I like him to stay. I say go get a payday and European football as a number one he deserves it. He’s going to be a great future coach/manager so welcome back anytime.

At 33, with premier league experience, he shouldn’t be a back up keeper. I rate the guy but I think he needs to move on.

I’d love ruddy to stay he’s an excellent option as a number 2. But he’s too good to warm the bench week in and out. If he decides to stay good… if he leaves I’ll wish him well

Let him go. As others have said, he deserves to be a number one. A proper professional.

A million times better than that clown Karius. Deserves to be No1 keeper somewhere. He has been triffffic for Wolves, good luck to him if it happens.

Let him go, not because I don’t rate him but because I do. He’s been nothing but professional throughout his tenure & deserves first-team football somewhere.

He’s a great goalkeeper. Love to keep him but he has to
look to his own career. If he has a better chance of regular play and the move is right for him and his family, then we can only thank him and wish him all the best.— sylvie (@sylvie79338708) April 21, 2020
The 33-year-old may find it hard to turn down Besiktas if they’re promising him a starting place, but Wolves still have a chance of retaining him if they put a new contract on the table. It would benefit Nuno Espirito Santo to keep Ruddy at the club as Patricio’s backup, but Wolves are powerless if the Englishman runs down his contract and decides to leaves. Few could argue if he wanted to be a regular in the last few years of his career.
