According to Football Insider, Leeds United are ‘set to be offered’ John Ruddy this summer, as the 33-year-old is out of contract.

The Whites are showing interest in Wolverhampton Wanderers’ No.2 ‘amid doubts’ over Kiko Casillas’ future, as the Spaniard is currently serving an eight-match ban for racism.

Ruddy hasn’t been handed a new deal at Wolves and is expected to be released in the coming months, so he’ll soon be free to speak to other clubs.

Which club did Wolves sign Raul Jimenez from?

The 33-year-old has been on the periphery since 2018, but he’s still held in high regard at Wolves. Ruddy fell behind Rui Patricio in the pecking order but would be a good acquisition for a Championship club.

Since joining from Norwich City in 2017, the England international has gone on to make 60 appearances in all competitions, conceding 49 goals and keeping 31 clean sheets.

Ruddy has only made 15 appearances in the last two years, so he would surely jump at the chance for more first-team football elsewhere.

It’s surprising that Wolves would let the 33-year-old leave given his service to the club, but few could blame Ruddy if he pushed for a move to Leeds. Wolves may now have to shop for a replacement.
