Report: Defender could leave Wolves after impressing out on loan

|

According to the Mail Online, Dion Sanderson could be on his way out of Wolverhampton Wanderers after impressing while out on loan. Manager Neil Harris has bene full of praise for his abilities, saying: “Dion has shown himself to be more than capable of playing at this level.

The 20-year-old joined Cardiff City on a season-long loan in January and has shone so much that clubs in the Premier League are showing him interest. Sanderson has made only two appearances for City, but he’s shut down talented wingers and shown a willingness to get forward at right-back.

Should Wolverhampton Wanderers keep Dion Sanderson this summer?

He made his debut in Cardiff’s 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest, turning over possession four times, while keeping Joe Lolley and Sammy Ameobi at bay. The 20-year-old’s second appearance came in the Bluebird’s 2-2 draw with Brentford and saw him turn over the ball on five occasions while stifling Said Benrahma.

It remains to be seen whether he has a future back at Molineux, however, as Matt Doherty and Oskar Buur are ahead of Sanderson in the right-back pecking order while Conor Coady, Leander Dendoncker, Romain Saiss, Willy Boly and Max Kilman have been preferred at centre-back.

But Nuno Espirito Santo should be pleased that he’s making an impact in the Championship and taking his opportunity to impress to give the Wolves manager a potential headache over the summer.
