Plenty of Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have responded on Twitter to the news that Andre Marriner will be refereeing their game against Brighton, with Chris Kavanagh on VAR duties.
So far this season, the Birmingham-born referee has refereed 16 Premier League games – two including Wolves – and has given out 41 yellow cards, two reds, and one penalty kick within those matches.
He has refereed Wolves on two different occasions this season, and while many fans aren’t particularly happy about it below, they haven’t actually conceded a goal in either game.
They faced Leicester on the opening game of the season in the first match, which ended up being a 0-0, and he also refereed their 2-0 win against West Ham at Molineux, so there can’t be too many complaints.
How will we get on against Brighton?
Win
Lose
Draw
The referee is an Aston Villa fan, per this Mirror article, but if fans were genuinely concerned about that, then they should probably take a good look at where both Brighton and Aston Villa are in the league table, and then have a think about what result a Villa fan would want from this game.

Great no good celebrating a goal then

It’s a huge game for both clubs who have very different ambitions. Wolves are flirting with the Champions League spaces and will have every belief they can reach it after defeating Spurs on their own patch last week, while Brighton haven’t won this year and are desperate for a result.
