Wolverhampton Wanderers are in the market for a new midfielder this summer, despite having Joao Moutinho, Ruben Neves, Leander Dendoncker, Romain Saiss, Meritan Shabani, Bruno Jordao and Morgan Gibbs-White on the books.
Leeds United’s Kalvin Phillips, Aston Villa’s John McGinn, Olympique Marseille Morgan Sanson and AC Milan’s Franck Kessie are said to be on Wolves’ wishlist, but the Midlands outfit have also shown interest in William Carvalho – a 28-year-old midfielder who plays for Real Betis.
Carvalho was once a sought-after player at Sporting CP, but his reputation has taken a hit after a disappointing second season in Spain. That being said, supporters from Talking Wolves are still open to the move.

Very good player. At 28y/o, this would be his last chance for a big money move….so on that train of thought alone, I reckon it’s a done deal already!

God yes! Powerhouse, what we need

He'd certainly be a marquee signing, and the Portuguese trio in the middle would be incredible!
Would you say DM is the position you need to strengthen the most?

Carvalho joined Betis in 2018 and has gone on to make 52 appearances in all competitions. The 28-year-old’s second season at the Estadio Benito Villamarín has been a disappointment, however, with Carvalho struggling with injury and spending an extended period on the sidelines.
He made only nine appearances in 2019/20 and featured just three times since September, so Wolves may be taking a gamble if they were to make a move for the €30m-rated midfielder.
