Diogo Jota came away with praise from supporters after Wolverhampton Wanderers beat Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 on Sunday afternoon. Nuno Espirito Santo’s men came from behind twice to pick up all three points and Jota had a hand in two goals in North London.
Where will Wolverhampton Wanderers finish in the Premier League?
1st - 4th
5th - 10th
11th - 15th
16th - 20th
The 23-year-old scored Wolves’ second equaliser of the game in the 57th minute, finishing from close-range after Matt Doherty square him the ball in the box. He then assisted Raul Jimenez’ winner in the 73rd minute after producing a brilliant solo-run in the build up. Fans hailed his impact.
Matt Doherty and Diogo Jota brilliant again
A few weeks ago both were facing a lot of criticism but since then have been unstoppable.. Have provided some big moments for us and Doc’s block at the end was another example of that

What a result !! Jiminez and Jota fantastic , just a great overall performance. We are now 3 points off top4 and have lost the same amount of matches as Man City.

Jota outstanding throughout for Wolves. Traore had his moments too. Jimenez quiet for most of it but, as top strikers do, did the business when it mattered most. What an attack, and what a team! #wwfc

Probable not our best performance, particularly at the back at times. But, lethal on the break & a huge win. Jota outstanding throughout. Jimenez lethal when it mattered. The dream is well & truly alive… #wolves #wwfc

Jota today was absolutely sensational… A pleasure to watch… Doc is back to his best too… Should be looking at winning 6/7 of our remaining games and see where it takes us… #wwfc

Just seen Spurs vs Wolves highlights.
• Jota is in incredible form. Right place right time for his goal, his ball to Jimenez for the assist was beautiful.
• My hot take? Wolves will get 4th…or win Europa League. Consistency is key and they have it… #Wolves #WWFC #TOTWOL— Brad Cox (@BradJCox_) March 1, 2020
Against Tottenham, Jota played for 78 minutes, had 51 touches, completed 96.2% of his 26 passes, created one chance which ended up an assist, had four shots with 25% accuracy, whipped in one cross, made four tackles, had four successful dribbles and made one interception.
The Portuguese international has made 35 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring and creating 21 goals. Jota has impressed for most of the campaign, but he’s been particularly outstanding in recent weeks.
He scored a hat-trick in Wolves 4-0 win over Espanyol, scored a brace in their 3-0 win over Norwich City and contributed two goals in the win over Tottenham. Jota is is enjoying a rich vein of form and is one of the first names on the teamsheet.
