John Ruddy is expected to leave Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer as he’s out of contract in the coming months and won’t be handed a new deal. The 33-year-old is Wolves’ No.2 under Nuno Espirito Santo, so he’ll need to be replaced ahead of next season.

One player who should be on Nuno’s radar is Joe Hart, as he’ll be a free agent in the coming months and would be a fantastic backup for Rui Patricio –  the 33-year-old has a wealth of Premier League experience, is highly-decorated and boasts a lot of international pedigree.

Which club did Wolves sign Raul Jimenez from?

Hart has spent two years at Burnley after joining from Manchester City in 2018 and has gone on to make 24 appearances in all competitions, keeping six clean sheets. The England international, who’s represented his country 75 times, was dropped at the end of December 2018 and has made only three appearances in the last 16 month.

Hart is unlikely to sign a new deal with Burnley, so he may be available on a free transfer this summer. The 33-year-old was earning £45k-per-week/£2.34m-a-year at Turf Moor, so he won’t break the bank either.

Whether Wolves will make a move remains to be seen, however, and whether Hart would be willing to play second-fiddle to Molineux is also unknown. That being said, he would be a solid replacement for Ruddy.
