According to 90 Min, Nuno Espirito Santo ‘wants to keep’ Adama Traore this summer. Wolverhampton Wanderers have no intention of selling their best players and plan to ‘invest’ on new players instead.
Vital Wolves have explained that a big part of Wolves’ plan is to retain top talent at all costs and sign players before their peak to develop them into established first-teamers.
Traore joined Wolves in 2018 and has gone on to make 79 appearances in all competitions, scoring seven goals and making 13 assists. The 24-year-old has been a regular under Nuno and was enjoying his best return before the season was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic – 16 goals/assists in 43 games.
Traore’s form hasn’t gone unnoticed. 90 Min add that Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Chelsea have shown an interest in the Spaniard, but Wolves won’t let him go if they can help it. Nuno has Pedro Neto, Daniel Podence and Diogo Jota to accompany Traore, so he has adequate depth on both flanks.
If Wolves did think about cashing in, it may take a bid of £70m for them to part company. The 24-year-old appears keen to stay at Molineux regardless, so Nuno may not have to worry about speculation.
