Report: Wolves have ‘advantage’ in pursuit of 22 y/o, striker is sought-after talent in Europe

|

According to Manu Lonjon, Wolverhampton Wanderers have an ‘advantage’ in their pursuit of Emmanuel Dennis but may still have to battle Everton, Crystal Palace, Real Betis, Sevilla, Borussia Dortmund, Brighton & Hove Albion, Southampton, Leicester City and Manchester United for his signature.

The 22-year-old is one of Europe’s most sought-after talents, but it remains to be seen if Wolves are successful bringing him to Molineux given all the interest. Nuno Espirito Santo may also be put off by Dennis’ asking price, poor form in 2020 and injury woes, as reported by Vital Everton.

Which club did Wolves sign Raul Jimenez from?

The Nigerian international has made 103 appearances in all competitions since joining Club Brugge from Zorya Lugansk in 2017, scoring 28 goals and making 10 assists. Dennis’ form has dwindled this season, however, with only five goals to his name in 20 First Division A games. He’s without a goal in 2020 too.

Not only has Dennis been firing blanks, he’s also struggled with injuries in recent months. The 22-year-old picked up a knee injury in January, a muscle injury in February and an ankle injury in March, so his playing time was diminished.

If Wolves are still interested, Club Brugge are requesting €30m (£25.1m) for his signature. Dennis would be the Midlands outfit’s second most-expensive signing, so they won’t rush into any deal if there’s doubts.

Nuno Espirito Santo has given opportunities to a number of young players at Wolves, but the Nigerian striker doesn’t come without flaws.
