Wolves On The Tweet

“We’ll smash it”, “Biggest team in it” – Plenty of Wolves fans react to competition update

Many Wolves fans have reacted on Twitter after the club announced that they will be joining Leyton Orient’s FIFA 20 tournament.

With coronavirus sweeping across Europe and subsequently suspending all of professional football in England and plenty across Europe, it seems as if plenty of clubs up and down the country are trying to keep themselves occupied while football is missing.

We’ve seen tic-tac-toe, connect four, but now Leyton Orient are trying to turn it up a notch by starting a big FIFA tournament.

It started off by just requesting 64 teams, but it has now snowballed into a 128-team tournament, with clubs all across the world competing.

The first round was drawn earlier, and Wanderers have a virtual trip down under to look forward to. Adelaide United are the team that they face in the hope that they can get through to the next round.

Many fans responded to the club’s original tweet about joining, with lots saying that they are the biggest team in the competition – something that Roma, Ajax and Benfica might have something to say about.

There have been some minor updates for both the Premier League season with Euro 2020 being officially postponed to the following summer.

This has paved the way for the possibility of the season being finished during the summer, with the European leagues committing to finishing the season before June 30. Time will tell as to whether that is a pipe dream or a possibility.
