According to Tuttosport via Sport Witness, Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in Rafael Leao and could make a move for the 21-year-old when the transfer window opens. The Old Gold have been linked with Gonzalo Higuain, Carlo Vinicius, Danny Loader and Emmanuel Dennis this summer, so they have alternatives to Leao.

Which club did Wolves sign Raul Jimenez from?

Tuttosport say the Portuguese U21 international struggled for playing time at AC Milan after falling out with coaching staff but has since turned things around after showing a better attitude in training. Leao has found some form too – three goals in 98 minutes of football – so he could soon be recalled to the starting eleven.

The 21-year-old joined the Rossoneri from LOSC Lille for £20.7m last summer and has gone on to make 27 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals with two assists. Leao has only started 10 of those 27 games under Stefano Pioli, however, which may have had an adverse effect on his form.

Milan’s forward has since turned things around, however, with three goals in his last 98 minutes of Serie A football. He boasts more successful dribbles per game (1.2/1.8) than Raul Jimenez (1.7/2.6) too. Tuttosport say the 21-year-old isn’t seeking an exit this summer, so it remains to be seen if Wolves have any luck landing his signature.
