A few days back it was being reported that Wolverhampton Wanderers were on the verge of capturing Manchester City youngster Oleksandr Zinchenko.
News of a deal for the 21-year-old did go quiet for a bit after the initial speculation splurge but yesterday former E&S journalist Tim Nash tweeted that he understood a deal worth a total of £16million was now in place and agreed between both clubs for the Ukraine international.
Wolves have made two summer signings, with Mexico striker Raul Jimenez on loan from Benfica and Portugal keeper Rui Patricio snapped up from Sporting Lisbon and a £16m deal is in place for Man City wing back Olegsandr Zinchenko.

He followed that with two further Tweets saying that Newcastle had now entered the race for him and the player was still to make a decision and was hoping to meet with Pep Guardiola for a talk before choosing one way or the other.
Zinchenko, 21, is still to decide his future, with Newcastle also in the hunt for the Ukraine international. He wanted to talk to City boss Pep Guardiola after training today before making a decision.

I would imagine that as today progresses we may get an answer one way or the other as Zinchenko will be looking to significantly increase his chances of game time now to get his career properly up and running and lose that ‘potential’ tag that is following him. I’d imagine he’ll have a similar chance at both clubs in fairness, so it then becomes about where he sees more of a future and a greater success of medals.
We all have our own thoughts on that so social media reaction to both clubs possibly fighting it out for his talents was interesting to say the least.
As a Newcastle fan not just saying this but if I was zinchenko I would go with Newcastle due to the fact he will be a main starter and rafa can get the best out of him and he's proved that last season as we finished 10th basically with a championship squad still

A new core in my opinion and cover at RWB.

What’s this about? Haven’t even seen him linked?

He should come to Wolves, the manager wants him so he'll play. Newcastle are up for sale and if they change manager he won't play.

Well Newcastle have no money until they sell Mitrovic. Zinchenko would be mad not to come. He could rot on the bench at city or get an opportunity to showcase himself regularly on the biggest stage at wolves

Nope, we had a 20 million pound bid rejected last week for a striker. Will we be selling players we don’t need to boost funds? Yes. I don’t think you need to worry though, not sure we would be interested in him unless it’s a loan.
