Roderick Miranda played a full 90 minutes as Futebol Clube de Famalicão boosted their top-four hopes with a 3-1 win over Sporting on Tuesday evening. The 28-year-old started alongside Neheun Perez at centre-back and played his part in limiting Sporting to only three shots on target at the Estádio Municipal de Famalicão.
As per WhoScored, Miranda had 46 touches, completed 80.7% of his 31 passes, found a teammate with three of his seven long balls, made three interceptions, blocked one shot, made eight clearances and drew one foul. His work at the back ensured that Andraz Sporar and Luciano Vietto only registered one shot on target.

Famalicao’s midweek win sees them end the day sixth in the Primeira Liga with 36 points from 23 games this season. They ended their six-game winless run and narrowed the gap to the top-four (three points). Miranda was making his 18th appearance for Famalicao since joining on loan last summer and will be delighted to have won the game while arresting the slide.
The 28-year-old had shipped 10 goals in his last three league appearances before the Sporting victory. Miranda is still awaiting a first clean sheet in two months, but he’ll be happy to win a game. Famalicao travel to the Estádio Nacional to face Belenenses SAD on Sunday before welcoming leaders FC Porto on March 15.
