Wolverhampton Wanderers enjoyed a 1-0 win over Bournemouth and Willy Boly was one of many players to come away with praise for his performance. The 29-year-old was a rock at the back to help Wolves keep consecutive clean sheets and impressively stopped Bournemouth having a shot on target over 90 minutes.
The longer that people ignore his magnificence the better. The man is a different calibre.

Outside of Van Dijk and Laporte, the best centre back in the league.

Criminally underrated

One of the best defenders in the league

Amazing to think he was out for several months with a fractured fibula. Immense

Willy Boly an absolute joke again. Won everything, unruffled throughout. Wolves with 6 clean sheets in 7 Premier League games since he returned from injury. Ridiculous how good he is. #WWFC

Against the Cherries, Boly played for 90 minutes, made 75 touches, won three aerial duels, completed 92.1% of his 63 passes, had one shot which hit the target, attempted five long balls with 40% accuracy, blocked one shot, made four clearances, made one interception and made two tackles.
Boly has made 26 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal and making one assist. The Frenchman has been in the winning side 14 times, drawing nine games and losing three. Wolves have won fewer matches (10) and lost twice as many (7) without the centre-back, so it’s clear how important he is to their hopes of finishing in a Champions League place.
The £13.05m-rated player has made a total of 104 appearances for the Black and Gold and is in talks to extend his deal beyond 2021. Boly could now finish his career at Molineux and supporters will be delighted if he does.
If anyone seriously thinks Willy Boly is only worth £13.05m their knowledge of football is unbelievably scary! If Harry Maguire, who is nowehere near the level of Boly, is worth £80m then imagine what price Big Willy would command if he were to be sold – which he won’t be!
