Wolverhampton Wanderers enjoyed a 3-0 win over Norwich City on Sunday afternoon and Romain Saiss was praised by supporters for his impressive performance over the 90 minutes. The 29-year-old returned to centre-back at Molineux, having previously operated in midfield in the Europa League, and helped keep a clean sheet against the Canaries.
Saiss was strong in the air, frequently turned over possession, was accurate with his passing and made an assist too. Wolves have now shut out their last four opponents in all competitions and haven’t conceded a goal since losing 2-1 to Liverpool on January 23.
Where will Wolverhampton Wanderers finish in the Premier League?

Who else agrees that Romain Saiss has really stepped up as a CB? Simple, effective and gets the job done 🧡🖤🐺 pic.twitter.com/PwCJCDI9Di

Romain Saïss always seemed like a guaranteed booking in the past, but he appears to have found his calm. He has now played 785 minutes in the Premier League since his last league booking, in the 57th minute against Norwich, on December 21st. Reckless Romain no more. #Wolves #WWFC

If we are looking for a young CB in the summer we must be willing to spend big on one imo as he would have to be an upgrade on saiss who has been excellent imo #wwfc

When the discussions come around for player-of-the-season, there should be a Moroccan entry on the list… Roman Saiss – cool as a cucumber, an integral part of our back three and now more likely to stay on the pitch than not, ruining bets all over the shop #wwfc #composed

Against Norwich, the Moroccan international had 57 touches, won two aerial duels, created one chance that ended up an assist, completed 83.7% of his 43 passes, made four clearances, had one shot which didn’t hit the target, made two interceptions, found a teammate with four of his eight long balls and made two tackles.
Saiss has made 35 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring and creating four goals. The 29-year-old has filled in at centre-back due to Nuno Espirito Santo being short on cover, but he’s excelled in the role and earns his place in the side on merit.
