Many Wolves fans have been rating the performances of Matt Doherty this season.
The Irish defender has been a one-club man throughout his professional career – barring a few loan spells away at Hibernian and Bury respectively – but a few supporters are doubting his performances this season.
Wolves dedicated account @WolvesFC_latest tweeted out to its followers, asking how they rate his performances this season out of 10, to which they were met by a series of responses.
While a few didn’t give their exact rating out of 10, they did chip in with their opinion on the player, to which there was a fairly mixed response.
Some fans suggested that he clearly isn’t getting the credit that he deserves, while others claim that he has been inconsistent throughout the season and can’t defend particularly well.
Is Luke Matheson a good signing?
Yes, looks a top prospect
Nope, shouldn't bother
Another supporter suggested that he flourishes much more in a 3-5-2 formation where he is given more license and space to get forwards, compared to a 3-4-3 where they tend to have a wider front three.
Here are some of the replies below…
Perhaps ‘fans’ will stop slagging him off now!

7/10 slip last couple months, but performance on Thursday and Sunday was more impressive

Honestly don’t get the hate he gets from our fans. Constantly a positive presence. Defends, attacks and it’s no coincidence that Troare plays better on the right with Doc. Never gets the credit he deserves.

Depends on the formation, like Jota he seems to play a lot better when we have a front 2 and he has more space in front of him.

Considering the defender has played in 25 Premier League games this season, scoring three, assisting one, and churning out an average of 6.92/10 according to WhoScored, fans might be being a little harsh on the defender.
