Wolverhampton Wanderers have certainly made some key and important captures in the last few transfer windows, but many believe last August’s snip £5million signing of Portuguese international midfielder Joao Moutinho may, in fact, have been the best of an already good bunch.
Having quickly adapted to the Premier League level and the club, the 32-year-old has become a key part of head coach Nuno Espirito Santo’s side and although he’s had his moments as all players do, he’s quickly been taken into the hearts of fans for his calmness and composure on the pitch.
His performance in the FA Cup quarter-final clash against Manchester United at the Molineux was another of those impressive occasions from him, and fans were quick to laud his individual performance on the day as we took charge against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side as romped to a 2-1 victory to set up a Wembley Stadium tie with Watford.
Not only that. We sold Benik Afobe for 2 Joao Moutinhos.
