After more recent wobbly form for head coach Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, the Easter double header offered us an opportunity to get our form back on track but relegation threatened Brighton and Hove Albion were always going to be a tough cookie to crack.

We massively dominated possession and chances and Brighton failed to register a shot on target, but we couldn’t make that dominance tell and the game ended scoreless. A disappointment yes, but it draws a line under our last defeat and recent disappointments don’t change how good a season it has been.

Statistics website Whoscored should probably have had better player ratings after our control on the game in fairness.

32-year-old Joao Moutinho ran the show for us in many ways and in their system of rankings he took Man of the Match with a score of 7.72.

Completing the top five on the day were Willy Boly (7.42), Ryan Bennett (7.37), Diogo Jota (7.26) and Ruben Neves (7.14).

With the games running out, the aim is now to end strongly and stay unbeaten hopefully.
