“Brighton Are In Freefall” – Pundit Expects Wolves To Get Back On Track

|

With Wolverhampton Wanderers’ form wobbling of late as our FA Cup exploits seem to have caught up with our league results given two defeats in the last three matches, head coach Nuno Espirito Santo continues to prepare the lads for this Saturday’s top flight clash with struggling Brighton and Hove Albion.

With Chris Hughton’s side sitting just outside of the relegation spots in the Premier League and only two points ahead of Cardiff City (they do have a game in hand), BBC pundit Mark Lawrenson has tipped life to get more difficult for them at the Molineux, as he expects us to return to winning ways once again in a 2-0 victory and thusly, send them to five straight defeats on the spin.

Explaining his decision to gift us the victory without a ball being kicked yet, Lawrenson explained.

“Brighton are in freefall. They are out of the FA Cup and without a point or a goal in their past four league games, and it is hard to see them turning things around at Molineux. This is a bad time to be on such a poor run, and Brighton’s run-in, which sees them play Tottenham, Newcastle, Arsenal and Manchester City next, does not exactly bode well for them to turn things around. Lots of Seagulls fans are saying it is reminiscent of their relegation from the top flight in 1983, when they went one better than this season and reached the FA Cup final but went down – and, at the moment, things are not looking good for them.”

Our wobble is undeniable but we haven’t been as bad as recent results imply on paper and the aim is to end the season strongly and top what has been otherwise a very good return to the top flight of English football, and Brighton certainly presents an opportunity to do just that.
