0 assists since July, 0 gls since Sep, dropped in 2020 – 22 y/o’s Wolves exit hasn’t gone to plan

Sherwin Seedorf left Wolverhampton Wanderers and joined Motherwell last summer after struggling for playing time in his two-and-a-half years at Molineux. Unfortunately, the 22-year-old’s stint in Scotland hasn’t gone to plan either, as his poor form has led to him being dropped from the starting eleven.

Which club did Wolves sign Raul Jimenez from?

Seedorf has led a nomadic career. As per Transfermarkt, the Dutch winger played for Excelsior, Feyenoord (2009 – 2016), NAC Breda (2015 – 2016) and the Nike Academy (2016- 2017) before joining Wolves (2017 – 2018) after a successful trial.

He never featured for the first-team, however, and was loaned out to Bradford City (July 1, 2018 – January 14, 2019) and FC Jumila (January 19, 2019 – June 30, 2019) to get more playing time. As per Transfermarkt, the 22-year-old made ten appearances for Bradford and nine for Jumila, but he was shipped out permanently upon his return.

Things haven’t got a lot better for Seedorf at Motherwell either. He’s made 28 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals and making one assist, but he lost his starting place just months into his debut season.

Seedorf has made 22 Premiership appearances and racked up only 878 minutes of football. He’s been substituted on or substituted off in 90.9% of his games and hasn’t started in the league since the turn of the year. The Dutchman has only started once since mid-October and finds himself behind Rolando Aarons and Jermaine Hylton in the pecking order.

With no assists to his name since July and no goal scored since September, Seedorf isn’t doing a good job of convincing Steve Robinson that he needs more opportunities. He’ll be hoping to recapture some form when the season resumes.
