‘Would like to see’ – some fans hope Nuno gives Wolves man his first-team debut soon

Leonardo Campana is still awaiting his debut for Wolverhampton Wanderers, five weeks after he signed from Barcelona SC Guayaquil. The 19-year-old has played for the u23s and been in the first-team matchday squad on two occasions, but he’s yet to be introduced from the bench.

Campana was an unused substitute in Wolves’ Europa League last-32 first-leg win over Espanyol (February 20) and second-leg defeat (February 27). Supporters were hoping they’d see the Ecuadorian striker in action by now, but they’ve been made to wait.

Nuno named Campana in Wolves’ Europa League squad as cover for Raul Jimenez, but he’s not trusted the 19-year-old in the Premier League.

In Wolves’ 0-0 draw with Manchester United (February 1), Pedro Neto and Daniel Podence made up the attacking substitutions. In their 0-0 draw with Leicester City (February 14), it was Podence and Adama Traore. And in their 3-0 win over Norwich City (February 23), Neto, Traore and Podence were on the bench.

It’s still early days into Camapana’s Wolves career, but fans are understandably eager to see what he can do.
