“Wolves showed serious interest” – Agent reveals 25 y/o is on the radar of Nuno and Marshall

Wolverhampton Wanderers have been linked with a move for Tobias Pachonik, and the 25-year-old’s agent Ersin Akan confirmed in an interview with VI that the Midlands outfit may have to battle Watford and other Premier League clubs for his signature.

Despite having Matt Doherty and Oskar Buur at their disposal, it appears Nuno Espirito Santo and Head of Recruitment John Marshall are on the hunt for another right-back. Pachonik’s representative appears keen to broker him a move too.

Akan said: “At the moment, nothing is concrete. Clubs everywhere are now waiting for developments in the world and in football. There is a lot of interest in Tobias. From the Premier League, among others. Watford and Wolverhampton Wanderers showed serious interest.”

And the defender said of his agent: “He knows what I want, that I want to work step by step to the highest possible level for me. I want to be the best player I can be. Ersin also knows that I am happy in the Netherlands. I would love to stay here and play longer.”

Pachonik joined VVV-Venlo from Carpi in 2019 and has gone on to make 27 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal and making three assists. The 25-year-old has been a regular at De Koel and has been a regular under Jay Driessen this season, but it appears his future is up in the air.

Whether Wolves make a genuine offer for the right-back remains to be seen, however, as Doherty still has three years remaining on his deal at Molineux and has been a terrific servant since joining the club in 2010.

Buur has recently been promoted to the first-team to provide backup too, so Wolves have all they need in the position.
