Wolves ‘proposed €20m’ for 25 y/o, club ‘ask for €25m’, his ‘future hangs in the balance’

According to TuttoJuve, Wolverhampton Wanderers have ‘proposed €20m’ for Daniele Rugani whose ‘future hangs in the balance’. Juventus, however, ‘ask for €25m’, so the two sides are still yet to reach an agreement.

With Napoli and AS Roma interested in the out-of-favour centre-back, however, Wolves can’t afford to dawdle in negotiations.

Rugani has struggled for playing time this season, making only seven appearances in all competitions while finding himself behind Matthijs de Ligt, Leonardo Bonucci, Merih Demiral and Giorgio Chiellini in the pecking order, so he could be on his way out this summer.

The Italian international has made a total of 94 appearances since joining Juve from Empoli in 2015, scoring seven goals. He’s failed to nail down a starting place in the last two seasons, however, and may not be content sitting on the bench.

Wolves are looking for a centre-back to accompany Conor Coady, Willy Boly, Romain Saiss and Max Kilman, as Ryan Bennett is surplus to requirements and Dion Sanderson will be loaned out next season.

The Midlands outfit have been linked with Kristoffer Ajer, Gabriel Magalhaes, Christian Luyindama, Ousseynou Ba, Tosin Adarabioyo, Ruben Dias, Diego Llorente, Nicolas N’Koulou, Robin Koch, but Rugani may be top of their wishlist.
