Report: Club eye €25m Wolves midfielder to replace 25 y/o, talks planned this summer

|

According to Corriere dello Sport via Sport Witness, Lazio are eyeing Leander Dendoncker as a replacement for Sergej Milinković-Savić. The 25-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Stadio Olimpico this summer and sporting director Igli Tare believes Dendoncker could be his successor.

Which club did Wolves sign Raul Jimenez from?

The Belgian international initially joined Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan from RSC Anderlecht in 2018 and went on to make 26 appearances in all competitions. He turned his move permanent in 2019 and made a further 46 appearances. With Dendoncker being a regular at Molineux, it’s hard to see him being sold unless a replacement is lined up.

Lazio has been eyeing the central midfielder for some time and plan to engage in talks with Wolves over his availability this summer. The Serie A club may not make an official bid until offers come in for Milinković-Savić, however, as Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move and Tare won’t stand in his way.

Wolves have Dendoncker tied down for the long-term, so they’re under no obligations to sell. Lazio may have to pay over the odds to stand a chance of landing his signature.
