Wolves are interested in signing winger Oussama Idrissi from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar, a report from Spanish outlet El Desmarque has claimed.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have yet to find a replacement for Diogo Jota following his move to Liverpool, although it seems they are looking for someone to fill that attacking role.

Idrissi scored 17 goals and provided seven assists in 42 appearances in all competitions last season, seemingly attracting the attention of those at Molineux.

According to the latest reports, Wolves are interested in a move for Idrissi, and it is thought that the Premier League club could offer around €16million for the signing of the 24-year-old.

Europa League champions Sevilla are also said to be in talks with Alkmaar over Idrissi, but a deal is not supposed to be close, and Italian giants Napoli have also been credited with an interest in the Moroccan international.

As things stand, there are still two years remaining on Idrissi’s contract with Alkmaar, securing his future in Holland until the end of the 2021/22 season.

This looks to be a decent target for Wolves to consider as they look to find a replacement for Jota in what remains of the transfer window.

Idrissi’s record for Alkmaar last season was certainly impressive, and does suggest that he could step into the role vacated by Jota following his move to Anfield, which would obviously be a boost for the Midlands club.

Given the level of interest there is in Idrissi, it could also be argued that this would be a big statement of intent from Wolves, although they will have to move quickly to get this done with just a matter of days remaining in the transfer window.
