Wolverhampton Wanderers have an injury crisis in defence ahead of Sunday’s meeting with Sheffield United – Willy Boly is injured, Romain Saiss is suspended and Ryan Bennett only has a ‘50%’ chance of playing. The 29-year-old ‘will be assessed’ before Nuno Espirito Santo makes a final decision.

How will Wolverhampton Wanderers fare against Sheffield United?

Win

Draw

Lose

Bennett has made 14 appearances in all competitions this season but injuries have decimated his playing time in the last two months – he’s been left out of the matchday squad seven times since September and has been an unused substitute on two occasions.

The former England u21 international has racked up just 91 minutes of Europa League football since Wolves reached the group stage, and he’s amassed only 99 minutes of top-flight football since early-September. Nuno might have to name Conor Coady, Jesus Vallejo and Leander Dendoncker as part of a makeshift defence.

Despite their problems at the back, Wolves’ overall form hasn’t been affected. Nuno’s men have four wins and three draws from their last seven league games and are currently fifth in the table with 19 points. Only Leicester City (8), Liverpool (11), Sheffield United (12), Manchester City (14) and Manchester United (15) have a better defensive record (16), so Nuno will back his side to get a result.
