Raul Jimenez got on the scoresheet in Wolverhampton Wanderers’ 2-0 win over West Ham, heading home from close range following a brilliant cross from Adama Traore. The 29-year-old notched his 14th Premier League goal of the season, but his effort was significant for two reasons.

Jimenez has scored more goals in a Premier League season than any Mexican player, a record previously held by Javier Hernandez (13 goals in 2010/11). He’s bettered his own Premier League tally of 13 goals last season, which was also a record for Wolves. And he may have matched the most goals in a top-flight season for any Wolves player, a record previously held by Ray Crawford (14 goals in 1963/64).

Which club did Wolves sign Raul Jimenez from?

The 29-year-old has scored 14 goals and made six assists in 30 league games this season. In all competitions, Jimenez boasts 23 goals and 10 assists in 45 games, so he’s coming off the back of a prolific campaign and still has eight more opportunities to add to his tally.

Jimenez future beyond this campaign is uncertain, however, as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool have shown interest in his signature. Unfortunately for Wolves fans, he can’t stop putting himself in the shop window.
