Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have been in love with Portuguese wonderkid Ruben Neves since the first day he arrived at the Molineux and pulled on a pair of boots.
The 22-year-old took the Championship by storm following his arrival at the club and although he had to adjust to the top flight, once it clicked for him in 2018/19 he hasn’t looked back and he’s continued to impress scoring four goals and providing three assists across the campaign so far as we close in on seventh place in the table, with some dreaming of a European adventure next term.
With him going from strength to strength, he’s certainly attracting the interest of other clubs and he’ll have seen his stock rise even further after his involvement in the scoring against Watford last weekend.
Having set up Diogo Jota to provide the assist for Raul Jimenez as we opened the scoring, he went one better and laid up Jota for his own goal on the day to grab an assist himself, and some Wolves fans were in meltdown over his showing on social media – for good reason!
absolutely brilliant work from neves, great cross from Jota too

Great tenacity to not lose the ball & even better to play a pass that unbalanced

The work by Jonny and Neves to keep the ball in the build to the goal was outstanding.

Watford will point to an handball in the build up but I think they’re guilty of one too. Neves did brilliantly to get the ball wide whilst half on the deck, great ball in by Jota. #wwfc
