I must admit I don’t remember this name from the January transfer window, but there’s that much speculation surrounding Wolverhampton Wanderers now given our growth under Fosun it’s probably easy to miss some – so for me, Edwin Gyasi certainly falls into that bracket.

A recent report by Sports World Ghana has claimed that we have joined VfB Stuttgart and Hanover in the chase for the 27-year-old Ghana international, who plys his trade at the moment for Russian outfit CSKA Sofia.

They claim that having tried to sign him back in the last transfer window, we have renewed our interest in the versatile attacker, although Turkish side Besiktas are believed to have now registered their interest in him as well.

Like a lot of the summer speculation, there’s not a lot of real details here and the January failure was apparently down to us not being able to agree a fee with CSKA as we wouldn’t meet their asking price, so I’m naturally sceptical about any real interest as at Wolves these days, if we want someone, we get them.

The player is more naturally a winger but he can also play as a second striker.

We’ll have to see if anything comes of this but we know it should be an interesting summer in any event.
