Roderick Miranda could start his third consecutive game back for FC Famalicao ahead of their meeting with S.C Braga on Friday night.

The Covid-19 pandemic caused the Primeira Liga campaign to be postponed in March, but football returned earlier in June and Wolverhampton Wanderers’ loanee has picked up where he left off in Portugal.

Miranda played a full 90 minutes in the Famalicenses’ 2-1 win over FC Porto (June 3) and 3-1 win over Gil Vicente (June 9), so he should be at the heart of their backline when Braga come to the Estádio Municipal de Famalicão.

Alongside Neheun Perez at centre-back, Miranda limited Porto trio Tiquinho Soares, Moussa Marega and Vincent Aboubakar to three shots over 90 minutes.

The 29-year-old started alongside Riccieli against Gil Vicente and held them to just two shots on target at the Estádio Cidade de Barcelos.

Miranda joined Famalicao on a season-long loan back in September 2019 and has gone on to make 21 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal and making two assists.

He’s been a regular under João Pedro Sousa and has eight more games remaining before returning to Wolves.

Ahead of the Braga clash, Famalicao are fifth in the Primeira Liga with 43 points from 26 games – only one place and three points worse off than their opponents.
