According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Wolverhampton Wanderers must “settle” Bright Enobakhare’s “expiring contract by June 23”.

The Midlands outfit have three options as laid out by the Premier League – agree a new deal, extend his contract to the end of the revised season or not offer an extension at all.

With Enobakhare’s last appearance for Wolves coming more than two years ago, it’s unlikely he will be retained past this summer.

Which club did Wolves sign Raul Jimenez from?

The 22-year-old rose through the youth ranks to the first-team in 2015 and has gone on to make 49 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals and making one assist.

Enobakhare made his debut in Wolves’ EFL Cup win over Barnet (August 25, 2015) and his last outing came in their 3-0 defeat to Sunderland (May 6, 2018).

In the last two years, he’s been loaned out to Kilmarnock (August 31, 2018 – January 6, 2019), Coventry City (January 8, 2019 – May 31, 2019) and Wigan Athletic (August 8, 2019 – January 2, 2020).

The Nigerian U23 international failed to score in six appearances at Kilmarnock, had a hand in nine goals in 18 games at Coventry and failed to score in three games at Wigan.

His stint at the DW Stadium was cut short, however, and he’s spent the last few months on the periphery. Raul Jimenez, Leonardo Campana and Renat Dadashov are ahead of Enobakhare in the pecking order, so it’s hard to see Nuno Espirito Santo keeping him.
