Report: Wolves man closing in on big-money move to PL rivals

|

Liverpool have agreed a deal with Wolves for the signing of attacker Diogo Jota, a report from Sky Sports has claimed.

Jota joined Wolves on loan from Porto in the summer of 2017, making his move permanent 12 months later, and now it seems as though the 23-year-old will be on the move again this summer.

According to the latest reports, Liverpool have agreed a £45million fee for Jota, who is set to undergo a medical ahead of a move to the Premier League champions on Saturday.

During his time at Wolves, Jota has made a total of 131 appearances in all competitions for the Midlands club, scoring 44 goals in that time.

That appears unlikely to be the business done between Wolves and Liverpool in the coming days, with defender Ki Jana Hoever apparently set to move to Molineux from Merseyside.

It is thought that Wolves will pay Liverpool £10million plus addons for the 18-year-old, who can play at right-back or centre midfield, and has made four cup appearances for Liverpool to date.

Considering the number of alternative attacking options to Jota that Wolves have, including the emerging Pedro Neto and summer signing Fabio Silva, this is probably not the worst sale the club can make this summer, especially considering the significant funds it will earn the club.

You also feel that Hoever could be a useful addition for Nuno’s side given his ability to play in several positions they need to recruit in, and judging by the business they have done already this summer, the Dutchman’s lack of experience is unlikely to be a concern for those making the calls at the club.
