Wolves On The Tweet

“Number one choice whatever the era” – Many Wolves fans respond to tricky question

|

With no Premier League or Europa League football to talk about for the Wolves fans, plenty of accounts have been discussing former players and scenarios to keep themselves going.

The fan account @WolvesFC_Latest is no different – and many supporters responded to their tweet about who they would want to take a free-kick for them in an almighty situation.

They set the scene: the club are drawing 1-1 in stoppage time of the Europa League final in 2020 in Gdansk. Wolves have been awarded a free-kick from 25 yards out. They then ask, which player – past or present – would you want to take this free-kick, to which many supporters responded.

Is Neves our most important player?

Yes, who else could it be

No, good but others are more important

There was a wide range of replies on display, with one suggesting that it should be a David Jones flick up and volley, another suggesting it’s one for Barry Douglas, and then many backing Ruben Neves to do the business on the big occasion.

Here are some of the replies below…

You never know, this could still come true.

It’s a weird situation where you are more doubtful for Wolves reaching a European cup final due to the outbreak of a pandemic rather than actually having the quality of getting there.

With the competition being suspended indefinitely, it is hard to see what will happen with this competition – but as long as Nuno’s side are in, they’ve got a decent shot.
