Plenty of Wolves fans have responded on Twitter to when full-back Matt Doherty hit a free-kick past Lee Grant in the Stoke goal.
It may only be just three years ago, but in terms of disparity in quality, the two teams are miles apart now.
If Wolves travelled to the bet365 Stadium in the Third Round of the FA Cup nowadays, then fans would be expecting to see their name in the hat for the next round.
However, back in the Paul Lambert days, any kind of result from then-Premier League Stoke would have been a huge success.
Helder Costa – now playing for Leeds – scored the opener on the day, smashing a shot home in the 29th minute from just outside the box.

In the 80th minute, Doherty bent a free-kick past Lee Grant, with the team’s routine leaving Grant flat-footed as he went to the keeper’s side.

The team on that day is a pretty good representation of just how far the club has come in that time.
In fact, out of the 18 team members, the only ones that remain in and around the first-team squad today are Matt Doherty, Morgan Gibbs-White and Conor Coady.
