Lots of Wolves fans on Twitter have given their mixed responses to rumours that they are in the hunt for French midfielder Boubakary Soumare.
According to a piece from Foot Mercato (via Sport Witness), the club will go back in for the player after having an offer worth around £34m rejected for him in the summer. It is said that Wanderers – as well as Napoli – will up the ante by making a bid of “over €50m (£42.5m)” for the Lille youngster.
The report also goes onto state that Wolves have ‘accepted the idea of loaning him back to Lille’ for the rest of the campaign if they can get a deal through, to presumably try and help them qualify for the Champions League for a second season on the bounce.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are not the only club who want the player, however, with reports from La Voix du Nord suggesting that Tottenham, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Valencia are all also wanting the 20-year-old.
Would you be happy to spend upwards of €50m on Soumare?
Yes, he would be a great signing
No, he's too expensive
Despite the alleged ambitious attempt from the club, many fans aren’t convinced by it. As you can see from the responses below, most aren’t convinced.
A lot more better options for midfield out there.

If you spend that kind of money on a player you don’t loan him back.

If we’re genuinely going out and spending £50m on a player, he needs to be a whole other calibre to Soumare. Quality footballer, but worth no more than £25m.

There is not a chance that we would pay 50m for a player who doesn’t go immediately in to the first team

Soumare has played 16 games so far this season for Lille as they continue to have another good season against expectations. His side are currently third after 18 games.
