Kites Flying Away?

Michael Kightly is not only a crucial piece of Wolves` ‘jigsaw`, but a national treasure. There is no doubt about that. Even the dirty Albion fans would tell you that.

Rightfully there a transfer rumours flying around here there and everywhere at the moment but last night I read on one internet website that West Ham, along with the usual suspects are all targeting Kightly. 4 million they say? AS IF.

Now I for one love a bit of transfer gossip, no matter how silly it sounds, but how can these websites come up with figures such as 8 million pounds for Hennessey and only 4 million for Kites. In my opinion Hennessey is terrific 80% of the time, but that other 20%, nothing short of average. Reading international match reports, he always gets glowing feedback, but week in week out at Wolves, he still worries me now and again. With Murray I don`t get that. Now, that is only my opinion.

Going back to my point about Kightly. This lad is no Cristiano Ronaldo, and probably never will be, but that guy is just special. However, he would be one of the best wingers in the Premier League should he leave our glorious club. David Bentley last night was once again distinctly average, even though he praises himself so much in the media. And Theo Walcott? how much did he go for to Arsenal? Both players looked no better than our Kightly, so 4 million? WALK ON.

Grays Athletic are undoubtedly very proud of their home-grown star, but floating things to reporters about him playing in the Premier League, they fail to mention who pays his wages, and how much he is adored at Molineux. In today`s football, adoration by the fans means little, but as Alex Ferguson said in the media over the weekend about his wonderkid Ronaldo, he would rather sit him in the stands than sell him. I believe this to be a similar statement Mick, Moxey or Morgan could all come out and say soon enough. We don`t need to sell him, don`t need the cash from his sale, and other than the garbage leaving Wolves in the summer, are not a selling club.

So I must reiterate, Michael Kightly is going nowhere. Read all you want over the internet or in the papers gossip columns, but he`s a Wolves player, and always will be. We will be in the Premiership before his contract runs out, and his value will quadruple by this time next year. And 16 million is still nothing short a bargain.

Now please, all you writers for your own personal internet sites, target your rumours on StephenElliot, or ever Stephen Ward, but stop writing dire rubbish about something that is never going to materialise. If you want to do something fun, take a maths GCSE again and learn to add an extra 0 on the end of your valuations.

That`s all for now folks!
