With every goal Raul Jimenez scores, he seems to be tipped or linked away to another club. Let’s be honest, no fan wants to see that – and that includes the skipper Conor Coady.

The Mexican striker has been on fire this term, with his superbly taken finish against Tottenham on the weekend being his 13th league goal of the season, making it 22 in all competitions from 44 matches. According to Transfermarkt’s valuation, the forward is rated at £37.8m, though there is no chance that would be enough to get him to leave.

After impressing last season on loan from Benfica, the club made his deal permanent for £32m, meaning that the teams interested in him such as Manchester United, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid (Express and Star) will have to pay a whole lot more than that if they want him. Furthermore, he is contracted until 2023, and with Wolves heading for European football once more, they will have no real reason to sell and a strong mandate to demand a lot of money.

Could you see Jimenez leaving before the start of next season?

Not a chance

Yes, but it's going to cost them

Coady, another player who has been instrumental in the recent rise of Wolves, has discussed the player and said that he wants him to stick around at Molineux for years to come.

He said: “We want to keep him here for many years.

“He’s such a good professional, and he wants to work hard every single day.

“He works on his game every day, to improve.

“He’s a sensational footballer. To have him at this club is brilliant, and hopefully we can keep him for many years.”

With the player saying in previous interviews that he would be open to a return to Spain, it is unclear whether he sees his future within these shores for the rest of his career. However, considering that Wolves could go far in the Europa League and potentially qualify for the Champions League, it is hard to see the ceiling of the club’s potential – and that is exciting for the players.

Coady’s words are encouraging and exactly what you want to hear from your captain, though admittedly they are hardly revealing of how the player feels and if he sees his future in Wolverhampton.
