“Great potential”, “Very promising” – Many fans want 22 y/o in Wolves’ first-team next season

Nuno Espirito Santo has been full of praise for Oskar Buur this season and regards the 22-year-old as a first-team player moving forward. Buur has finally broken into Wolverhampton Wanderers’ senior squad after joining three years ago and is now Matt Doherty’s direct replacement at right-back.

The Danish defender has only made a handful of appearances for Nuno and may have competition from Luke Matheson in 2020/21, but supporters from We are Wolves want to see Buur stay in the squad next season and believe he has the potential to become a regular in the future.

Buur joined Wolves on a free transfer from Brabrand IF in 2017 and has gone on to make four appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal. The 22-year-old has featured 50 times for the U23s and has been rewarded for his progression with a place in the first-team.

Buur was teetering between the reserves and the seniors before the season was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but he should now be a regular fixture in the matchday squad. Fans certainly hope that will be the case.
