Wolverhampton Wanderers fans will be well aware of the speculation on the summer transfer rumour mill that has regularly linked us with a move for Porto striker Moussa Marega.

To save overly repeating the story for those that know it, I’ll link in again.

The Birminghanm Mail have given an update to the story this week and despite claims of a £30million release clause for the 28-year-old, we are said to be some way off that, as are potential other suitors.

Given claims initially were that we’ve already triggered his release fee, as ever, the rumour mill has gotten ahead of itself, or more likely, proven once again that claims in the press at this time of year should always be treated with a huge amount of scepticism – whether or not you find the rumour good or bad for the future of Wolves.

It certainly won’t be the last time we get some complete invention gain traction, and it certainly isn’t the first.

Where the story goes from here is anyone’s guess.
