Wolves On The Tweet

“Completely gutted”, “Give us the cup” – Many Wolves fans react to Europa League update

|

Plenty of Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have reacted on Twitter to the update from UEFA about the future of this year’s Europa Leauge competition.

Today it was announced that both the Europa League and Champions League had been suspended “until further notice” by UEFA because of the coronavirus pandemic.

In addition, all national team games in June had been postponed, including Euro 2020 play-off games, as well as qualifying matches for the Women’s Euro 2021.

The announcement was made after UEFA’s 55 member associations met on Wednesday.

While the update didn’t really bring around too much new information, Wolves fans might be growing increasingly anxious that they will not be able to finish this footballing season.

Could you see Diogo Jota leaving in the summer?

Not sure

No chance

No chance

Yes I can

Of course, with everything that is going on at the moment, health isn’t particularly comparable to football, but considering that the club were so close to the final eight of the competition after being in the Championship in 2018, it would be an enormous shame if a resolution wasn’t found to finish the tournament.

Journalist Tim Spiers tweeted about the news soon after it was announced, to which plenty of supporters responded to weighing in with their opinions.

One fan said they were “completely gutted” about what was happening, but at the same time would be “elated” even if they did cut the tournament short after the way they have performed throughout.
