Wolverhampton Wanderers welcome back Romain Saiss ahead of Wednesday’s Premier League meeting with West Ham United. The 29-year-old missed Wolves’ 1-1 draw with Sheffield United (December 1) through suspension, having picked up a one-match ban for five yellow cards, but he’s now returned and could feature against the Hammers.
Saiss has been a regular for Wolves this season, making 19 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals. As per WhoScored, he’s racked up 694 minutes of Premier League, averaging 36 passes-per-game with 80% accuracy, winning 26 aerial duels (55%), making 44 clearances and averaging a tackle (12) or interception (11) every 30 minutes.
The Moroccan international has featured in both defence & midfield under Nuno Espirito Santo and was operating at the back in place of Willy Boly – the 28-year-old is still sidelined with an ankle injury, but Max Kilman & Jesus Vallejo will be available.
Regardless of who Nuno names in defence, Wolves are favourites to pick up all three points against West Ham. The Midlands outfit are sixth in the table with 20 points from 14 games, coming off the back of a nine-game unbeaten run. Wolves are also seven places and four points better off than West Ham.
