According to Sportime, Bright Enobakhare is set to sign a ‘three-year contract’ at AEK Athens. The 22-year-old was released by Wolverhampton Wanderers in May and has been in talks over completing a move to the Super League.

Sportime say an ‘agreement’ is in place between the two parties and ‘medical examinations’ have been planned, so Bright could be announced as an AEK Athens player on Thursday night.

Which club did Wolves sign Raul Jimenez from?

The Nigerian striker made 49 appearances in five years at Wolves, scoring three goals and making one assist. His last outing for the Black and Gold came in 2017/18, so he resorted to loan moves away from Molineux to get competitive football.

Bright made six appearances for Kilmarnock (August 31, 2018 – January 6, 2019), 18 appearances for Coventry City (January 8, 2019 – May 31, 2019) and three appearances for Wigan Athletic (August 8, 2019 – January 2, 2020). The 22-year-old didn’t stand a chance of getting minutes when Raul Jimenez came to Wolverhampton, but Bright is still young enough to develop elsewhere.

AEK Athens isn’t a bad move either. The Greek outfit were third in the Super League before the Championship Group and boasted 42 goals from 26 games. Their top goalscorer is Nelson Oliveira, who ironically came close to a move to Wolves in January, so Bright has a good player to learn from.
