Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Sylvain Deslandes has tonight made the permanent switch out to Romanian side FC Arges Pitesti, bringing his time at the Molineux to an end.

The wing-back made a handful of appearances for our Under 23 side before progressing into the first team and making seven starting appearances, with one further showing from the substitutes bench.

In recent years he’s spent time out on loan with both Bury and Portsmouth to aid his development, and with his most recent appearance for us being in the EFL Cup against Bristol Rovers back in 2017, it’s no surprise to see him move on permanently now so he can really build his game time and get his career properly up and running.

With the club wishing him well when his departure announcement was made, a number of fans were willing to wish him the best, but equally a fair number questioned his initial capture given the lack of game time – but not all transfers work out and you have to accept that in the game.
