Wolverhampton Wanderers’ trip to the John Smith’s Stadium to face relegation threatened Huddersfield Town yesterday evening didn’t quite go to plan.

With plenty of fans hoping for some revenge following the Molineux based defeat earlier in the season, the travelling faithful didn’t see their efforts rewarded as a very lacklustre showing based on our own standards in recent seasons saw us fall to a narrow 1-0 defeat – and with their winner coming in stoppage-time that made it even more galling.

Statistics website Whoscored’s player ratings from the game showed how poor it was as only a handful of players received seven-plus scores.

For Wolves, they gave our Man of the Match award to defender Willy Boly with a rating of 7.23. Completing the top five best performers on the night were Jonny Castro (7.06), Joao Moutinho (6.94), goalkeeper Rui Patricio (6.80) and Leander Dendoncker (6.80).

A poor night and a poor performance, but we’ll look to bounce back quickly.
