Oskar Buur signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with Wolverhampton Wanderers in February as reward for his progress in the reserves, but he hasn’t featured for the first-team since putting pen to paper on an extension. Nuno Espirito Santo picks the 22-year-old in his matchday squad on a regular basis, but he hasn’t given Buur a single minute on the pitch in any competition since January.

Which club did Wolves sign Raul Jimenez from?

Buur joined on a free transfer from Brabrand IF in 2017 and has gone on to make 50 appearances in the U23s (two goals, seven assists) and four in the first-team (one goal, one assist). His last outing came in Wolves’ 1-0 defeat to Manchester United on January 15.

The Dane was meant to provide cover for Matt Doherty, but the £14.4m-rated right-back has played in 34/36 Premier League games (four goals, three assists) and 8/9 Europa League matches (two goals, one assist), so he’s barely missed a game.

And in Doherty’s absence, Nuno has called upon £14.4m-rated Jonny Otto and Adama Traore rather than Buur. It’s also worth noting that the highly-rated Luke Matheson could edge himself ahead of the £500k-rated man next season too – he joined Wolves in January and was loaned back to Rochdale for the remainder of the campaign.

Nuno has been full of praise for Buur in the past, but will he get many opportunities in 2020/21?
